Component dimensions, pressure levels, chemical exposure, and mechanical load must all be considered during selection and fabrication. In some cases, PTFE may also be filled with materials such as glass, carbon, or graphite to improve wear resistance, dimensional stability, or mechanical strength for specific applications.
